Why is it so important to have a regular facial?

Being proactive and looking after your skin is the best way to slow down signs of aging, and to keep your skin clear, healthy and nourished. Having a monthly facial, performed by a professional, addresses skin concerns and anti-aging, and it promotes long-term healthy skin.

How often should I get a facial?

Generally, facials are recommended once a month. However, we can discuss your specific needs, desired outcomes and schedule. Also, be sure to ask about facial packages, and save when you purchase and book your regular facials in advance at Skinfix.

What will my brows look like after an eyebrow procedure?

Dark! Darker than it will end up being once healed completely. Throughout the healing process, the color will fade 40-60%, so don’t be alarmed! Sometimes your brows will fade in some weird spots between the initial appointment and touch up, but that is totally normal! That’s what the touch up appointment is for! You can still go out to dinner, run errands, etc. though…there really isn’t any downtime aside from the week-long healing process.

Best tips for eyelash extensions?

  • No sleeping face down.  Be gentle.

  • Goodbye, mascara! Mascara contains oils and waxes. Lash extensions should not come in contact with oil as it will melt the glue and loosen the hold.

  • Apply eyeliner carefully & sparingly. You want to keep the lash extensions clean and free of gunk to prolong their time spent on your natural lashes.

  • Stash the lash curler. Lash extensions are durable, but not indestructible. Don’t go testing their limits by crimping!

  • No cotton pads (and be super careful with makeup wipes, too). Getting cotton fibers stuck on lash extensions is a nightmare.

  • Resist the urge to rub. You can do it! Rubbing will cause fallout.

  • Excessive exposure to heat, steam, sauna and friction can weaken the adhesive bond and result in premature eyelash extension loss.

Can I have permanent makeup if I’ve had Botox?

Of course! Because Botox can alter the placement of your natural brows, it is best to have your brows done first. Then, I’d recommend waiting at least two weeks AFTER your brow procedure to schedule a Botox appointment.  If you’ve recently had Botox, I recommend waiting at least 2-3 weeks before having your permanent makeup procedure.

Does permanent makeup hurt?

Well, it depends on your pain tolerance... everyone is so different!  Topical numbing is used for both brow and eyeliner procedures, and lip procedures have the option of adding a local anesthetic. Minor discomfort and light swelling is to be expected.

How long should your permanent makeup appointment take?

When you arrive for your appointment, you will fill complete medical history and your consent forms while the topical anesthetic works its numbing magic.  After 20-30 minutes, the topical will be removed and any mapping needed will be drawn at that point. After you approve the design, color, and placement, your procedure will take begin. The average initial procedure takes approximately 2-2.5 hours from start to finish. Touch up appointments don’t take as long.
